Attached down below is the MLSD Studio Handbook for the 2017-2018 dance season! Make sure to read everything, and sign and return the last page by the first day of classes. The handbook contains dress codes, policies, due dates and more. Can't wait to see everyone this year!

 New this year, we will be creating a newsletter each month called “The MLSD Beat.” It will be full of important information for the year. We are doing this in an effort to consolidate the information into one place, so we can reduce the number of emails we send, while still communicating with our MLSD families! We will also include fun material like teacher tips, dance history, staff spotlights, students of the month and upcoming events! Here is our first issue and it's packed full of helpful information! So enjoy...and since we're new at this, please offer feedback :) Also, be sure to come to our Welcome Party for our MLSD families Saturday October 8th from 1:00-3:00pm!
Below is our MLSD Studio Handbook for the 2016-2017 dance season. Be sure to read the handbook and sign/return the last page of the handbook by the first day of classes. It includes important information on dress code, events, pricing, due dates, policies, etc.
 Remember that we are closed in observation of Memorial Day today and tomorrow. Regularly scheduled classes will resume Wednesday June 1, 2016.
 The Miss Laura's School of Dance 4th Annual Recital, "Burn the Floor," is a two day show again this year: Saturday June 11 and Sunday June 12, 2016 at 3pm. Once again, our shows will be at Five Points in Washington with assigned seating. Tickets can be purchased through TutuTix starting Monday, May 9 at 9am. Mark your calendars for the on-sale date so you don't miss your chance to attend! Our tickets go fast!
Tickets Prices: $10 in advance (plus a $1.50 TutuTix processing fee) $13 at the door of the show Ages 4 & under - Free (if sitting on lap of adult) Recital Programs cost $10 and are available for pre-order at the studio. These are like a studio yearbook! Paper copies of the recital order will be handed out at the doors of recital for those not wishing to purchase a program. Pre-order deadline: Tuesday May 31st. Recital DVDs and Blu-Rays can also be ordered. Raphael Rodolfi of Videogenique is once again capturing our show for only $30 per DVD or $35 per Blu-Ray! Final order deadline: August 31st. Recital T-Shirts cost $20 and can be purchased in advance or at the doors of the show. Each performer's name will be listed on the back of the shirt. Pre-order deadline: Wednesday May 18th. Don't forget to place an ad in our Recital Program wishing your favorite dancer good luck, or advertising your business! You can do it all online at www.MLSDrecital.com. Deadline: Sunday May 22nd!  Everyone who registered should have received a copy of our Welcome Packet. In case you didn't receive a copy, or can't find it, it's attached below. Be sure to read through everything and sign the policy agreement form inside. Please also be sure to sign our photo/video consent form when you come to your first lesson!

The access code is: mlsdance1 Registration is still open for the master classes with Ade Obayomi! The classes are TOMORROW, August 16th, 2015. Register through the “Event Registration” tab in your account.  Returning students can now register for classes for the 2015-2016 regular session! Click here to log into your MLSD online account and register.

There will be a link on our website homepage at 10am to register online, or you can register in person at the studio from 10am-2pm at our registration open house!  MLSD is once again sponsoring a color station at the St. Jude Washington Kids' Color Run! This year's event is Saturday August 29th from 3-7pm at Oak Ridge Park in Washington. This is a really fun event, and great way to promote "kids helping kids." It starts off with the run, where volunteers, sponsors, and parents can throw paint at the kids, then continues with food and a dance party! We had a great time last year, and can't wait to participate again this year. We're hoping to have lots of MLSD runners this year! Since many people haven't been into the studio to see the forms, the early registration deadline has been extended to August 12th. Please turn in your form and $25 registration fee to MLSD by noon on August 12th to guarantee you get a shirt, and to register for the lower early rate. Your registration fee includes the color-run t-shirt and one color packet. Additional color packets can be purchased when you register, and parents can order a t-shirt for $10 with their kid's registration. Registration continues until the day of the race, but the t-shirt isn't guaranteed and the fee goes up to $30 after August 12th.  Today is the last day to register for the Ade Obayomi master class at the early registration rate! If you register and pay today, it costs $40! This is a great opportunity to take from a great dancer and choreography. If you like jazz and/or hip-hop, you will LOVE his Jazz Funk class!
