Tiny Tots Program
There are two levels in the Tiny Tots Program. We recommend doing 2 years in each program, if possible, to fully master the skills before moving to the next level. Parents aren't allowed to watch classes during the year, except during watch weeks. We find that the kids pay much better attention in class when the parents aren't in the room, and most kids do just fine with this after the first few lessons! On watch weeks parents can watch the last 5-10 minutes of class to watch each of their dances and see what they have been working on. Watch weeks are noted on the studio calendar as well as in the Studio Handbook.
The first level is our Caterpillar level, for ages 3 & 4 (Preschool). This level is a combo class of tap, ballet and acrobats and they take for 15 minutes in each style. They will learn very basic skills to help with coordinate, musicality, and lay the foundation for each dance style. They will perform a tap and a ballet dance in the recital.
The second level is our Butterfly level, for ages 5 & 6 (Kindergarten). This level is a combo class of tap, acrobats and jazz and they take for 15 minutes in each style. They will build off the skills learned in the Caterpillar level, and learn basic jazz steps. They will perform a tap and a jazz dance in the recital. This level is for dancers who have already participated in 2 years of the Caterpillar program. Butterfly students are welcome to take Level 1 Ballet, or a Butterfly Ballet class, so they don't have to miss a year of ballet.
